Upcoming Things at Fairytale Boutique!

Yesterday was a very exciting day for Fairytale Boutique! I can’t give out a lot of information, but there are lots of things in the works for the shop! We started the day by working on more stock photos. I was happy I got all of the Chocomint items done this past week by working during the week when I had time, and finishing everything out when I worked on Friday.

Today we started doing more of the bigger items, mainly the dresses. It’s tough work dressing and undressing that mannequin quickly! Thankfully Oli and Monique helped me :D We also got to play around in some of the dresses! I realized I love how “xxx” fits me, but I’m still not sure if I like the print, and I tried on “xxx” too! Oh crap you guys, I have to show you:

Uahh I can’t release any info or pictures! So I did this one AP style.

Okay, so there actually was a purpose for us putting on some of the dresses, but I can’t say! I also can’t tell everything we did yesterday, but I hope you guys like it when things get revealed!

After the shop closed and we finished everything, Miki and Shaun treated us to Korean BBQ! It was me, Miki, Shaun, Oli, Monique, Zeke, and Kai. It was really nice going out with friends; I haven’t done that in quite a while! The food was really good too! I ended up stuffed to the brim, and ready for a nap! It was very kind of Miki and Shaun to buy us dinner, I’m not used to that >w<

I talked to Shaun about my website again, and I guess there really is a lot I don’t know! ;_; He was talking about “FTP” and other technical stuff and I tried to follow, but he’s going to sit down and help me next week! I’ll show you guys my site when I get it going :)

In other news, I’m really excited for the Marimo Party on Feb 10!

If you haven’t heard about it yet, please check out the event on Facebook!

This will be a new experience for me, because I’ve helped out at different events, but it’s usually just modeling. This time, I will actually be helping with running it :) I’m excited to learn what all goes in to putting together and running an event and making sure everything goes smoothly!

Oh man, I wish I could tell you guys about the prize! It’s gonna be awesome!

Hope to see you all there!

Whelp, that’s all the updates I’ve got!

Until Next Time,
^^ Sami

I'm Living in a Fairytale

On Jan 19, I worked for my second day at Fairytale Boutique! I met Miki’s boyfriend, Shaun, and he taught me all about the backside of the online shop. I learned how to input photos and information for each item we’re putting online, and how to “enable” them so they’d show up on the site. I got to see what the store front looks like too! You guys are gonna love it, it’s so cute!

I’m really good with Photoshop, and Shaun showed me how to photograph items and then Photoshop them to make them look professionally presentable. I fix the levels to blow out the background, and paint it in white. If need be, I use the select tool to make sure nothing gets cut off. I learned some techniques that I didn’t know before! Photoshop is such a big program XD

I was really proud of myself when Shaun told me I was a quick learner and was picking up inputting information for the items and Photoshopping the stock photos correctly. It makes me happy to know that I’m being a good asset to the shop, and really helping get the name out to the larger Lolita community outside of LA.

This is mainly what I worked on for the day, and I was more than happy to do it, because I know how bad Miki wants to get it up and running! Crossing my fingers, depending on how many products we can get up on the site, hopefully it’ll be launched soon!

It was really nice talking to Miki and Shaun at the end of the day because we chit-chatted about the inner workings of the store, and tips and tricks for the real world.
Shaun also talked to me about the benefits of having your own website, saying he’s been offered jobs just from having that tool. I’m working on getting that set up for myself, but currently I’m having trouble getting things to work right! (If anyone knows how to help me, please email me at midsummer.chocolate(at)hotmail.com!)

Also, my outfit for the day:

I didn't end up wearing those shoes, but they matched so well!

Until Next Time!

Fairytale Boutique

It's been so long! I'm such a bad blogger OTL

Whelp, I started my first internship today! I'm proud to say I work at the Fairytale Boutique!
I had a very fun-filled first day, and I learned a lot!

I wore Baby's Princess Honey's Tea Salon, pink, with white polka dot tights. Something simple and comfortable :)

I picked up a small thank you gift for Miki before I got there ^^

I've worked a few jobs, but nothing yet in retail.
We started with the basics of the shop: how to use the register, how to put on the hangtags, how the clothes need to be hung, and how to fold the waist ties prettily.
I also learned on the computer how to add items into the inventory, and how to add items as sold.

A few different groups came in, but most just browsed what we had.
There was one girl who came in who looked so cute! She had on a blouse with lots of lace, the F21 HK tights, a HK key necklace, and her nails were done up all deco style! I couldn't help but admire her :D
I was happy to see some familiar faces too! Thanks for stopping in guys :)

A lot of the day was spent explaining the super cute Marimo balls!

We were talking about how we should have a care sheet for those who adopted them, sooo I whipped one up on Illustrator! It turned out really well, and I was happy Miki liked it ^^ I also made an adoption certificate, kind of like they do at Build a Bear :)
People were so intrigued by the little things! Miki was really good at explaining what they are too.

I'm also learning about consignment items, adding them into the inventory, etc. but we're going to cover this tomorrow.
I learned there's different kinds of guests, mainly those who are just browsing, and those who actually know about the fashion, and how to take care of them. It's weird to think of people like that! But Miki told me it's about making friends, and I like that! Making new friends who are interested in the same fashion as you is exciting.

It's so odd being on the other side of the counter and learning all the ins and outs of having a shop! I really like it though, and I'm so eager to learn.

We also talked about possible upcoming events, but I can't reveal too much about those! :x

Tomorrow I'll be working on the online shop! I'm really excited about this because I know how bad Miki wants to get that up and running. So, hopefully soon it will be!

Until Next Time!

I'll try to blog more, I swear...
