Coming to a close...

Hello Hello!

Whelp, this week concludes my internship at Fairytale Boutique…but not my time with them! Miki offered me a part time job <333 I’m so excited to be able to work there! Please come visit me on Fridays and Saturdays!

I was very fortunate to get this internship, and I definitely learned a lot. It taught me how to work in the retail environment since I haven't worked in retail before. I learned the inner workings of a store, and everything that it takes to run one, including marketing, visual merchandising, inventory, store layout, and the online store.
The online store was my biggest responsibility, since we really wanted to get that up and running. I learned everything about the admin side of it, and quickly found there are a lot of small details that need to be input for an item before it can be put on the floor, and even more for when it goes up online.
I was able to apply my knowledge from AMM, because it has taught me all I know about the fashion industry. I’ve learned about store layouts and floor plans, fabrics and sewing skills, and accounting and store management. In different ways, I was able to apply these skills and more to my internship, which made me a greater asset because I wasn’t coming into it with no knowledge of the industry.
I did learn a lot for the time I was there. I enjoyed that I already knew my boss, because it made the dynamic between us more relaxed and comfortable. I think if she didn’t know her intern, it wouldn’t have gone nearly as well. I am very thankful for the opportunity.

See you soon!

Fairytale Boutique New Items, Video Filming, and Dolly House Runway!

Hello Everyone!

Sorry I’ve been a bit quieter recently, it’s crunch time at school, and I’ve just been so busy! Between projects, presentations, essays, midterms, and interning, I feel like I haven’t had a chance to catch up in the internet world :( The good thing is that I’ve just finished week 8 out of 10 in this quarter, so in just a bit here, finals will be coming up! I’m so ready for spring break x_x

This week has been really busy at Fairytale Boutique!! Our website has finally opened, to the wonderful applause of many people that were waiting for it! See the announcement post here :)

Please visit us over at Fairytale-Boutique.com! There are a lot of items up right now, and we’re working on updating it with more items as often as we can :)

We’ve been getting a lot of new items at the store too! Currently a few more dresses, a bag, and a messload of accessories! You’ll just have to come in to see everything we’ve got! Really, all I worked on yesterday was inputting many of the new items into the system so we could put them on the floor.

Oh! Miki also did a really big preorder on the Angelic Pretty Mook with Sugary Carnival Tote that’s come out! We got SO many x_x we wrapped up about 20 yesterday to be shipped out. It was a lot of work, and when everything was packed, we had a giant stack of priority boxes! Thankfully the postman will do a pick-up for us!

These books are really cute! Personally I don't care for the black colorway of Sugary Carnival, so I'm not terribly interested in the tote, but I definitely want to pick up the book! I'm hoping to find it online by itself for cheaper, because I know most people are after that tote.

We also did a video filming after hours last night! It was so much fun, but I can't say what it's for! When it gets released, I'll post about it on here :) Thanks everyone that came, I think it was a big success, and I can't wait to see how it turned out! We had a lot of fun, and a great group of people!

Anyway, I’m going in today too, and it’s going to be just as busy, but hopefully we can put all the new stuff out today! Miki and I teamwork well together, and it makes it go a lot faster :)

~~~~~~~~
On another note....please join us at Dolly House Runway tomorrow! I'm really excited, and it's going to be a really fun and big event! I'm actually going to be one of the models for *** so please come watch me do my best in the fashion show! Hopefully I'll be wearing the dress of my choice, but anything I will be wearing will look wonderful! See you all there :)
Hope you guys enjoyed my updates, and I hope to post again real soon!
Until Next Time,
Marimo Valentine's Meet at Fairytale Boutique!
I want to give a big thank you to everyone who came to our Marimo Valentine's Meet yesterday! It was a big success, and we couldn’t have done it without you guys <3
Everyone who worked the event too, thanks for helping everything run smoothly!
 For those who weren’t able to make it, I’ll give a rundown of everything that took place:
Some people came in between noon and 3 when we were still open, and I asked certain people if they’d be joining us for our meet. One girl said “yes, that’s why we’re here!” and took out her marimo ^^ It was so cute, and she decorated the jar really well!
We then closed down the shop at 3 to set up for the event! We rearranged the furniture, and set out the candygrams on a table, and put out a few new products especially for the event. We changed the outfits on the mannequins for Valentine’s Day too!
My outfit for the day:
Tara and I twinned! She’s so darling <3 We wore Angelic Pretty’s Wonder Story. I wore mine with the matching headbow, an AP blouse, and Alice in Wonderland tattoo tights. She wore hers with the matching headbow, AP’s “eat me” socks, and the “drink me” bottle necklace.
We took a few pictures before the event started:
Our marimo for sale:
I worked the candygram table for a while, and Oli traded off with me too
At 3:30, we began to let people in! There was such an influx, and many people came straight for the candygram table! Within the first 10 minutes, about 7 of them were gone :) By the end of the night, all 20 were sold!
Most people chatted and looked at what we had for sale, and I saw Monique was very busy at the register! It was so nice to see familiar faces, and everyone was so well dressed too! Everyone was decked out for Valentine’s Day.
Oh! Lor picked up Hide and Seek with Missin’ Alice! I saw she got it and I was super excited for her! I personally didn’t care for the OP, so I was happy she bought it <3 I can’t wait to see how she coords it! I know she’s gonna look awesome.
A few of my favorite outfits of the night:
Christine was wearing Milky Rail Train, and looked fabulous!
Angela always looks so cute!
I love her dip-dyed hair and how she curled it,
and she made her shooting star scarf herself!
At 5:30pm, we gathered everyone for bingo!
Photo from Lor
I was told it was very intense.
Oli and I pulled out the numbers. The first round was for some goodies, and the second round was one of the Kyary tickets! Both Lor and Haley won, but Lor let Haley take the ticket.
Right after, we asked if everyone wanted to do the raffle, to which a resounding “yes” was heard. There were three winners, the second place receiving a $5 gift certificate to the shop (congrats Tara!), and the top prize was a second Kyary ticket (congrats Mandy!).
A little later, we held our best dressed contest, and Nancy decided the winner!
Everyone had to have their marimo with them to qualify. Nancy said it was a tough decision because she knew them all personally, but in the end, she chose Ashley as the winner! She won a $10 gift certificate to the shop, and some other things as well.
After this, I think people started getting hungry, because it quickly died down. I was sad to say bye to everyone, but I knew I’d be seeing them again soon!
And of course, to round out the night, what’s a Lolita meet up without some funny pictures!?
Lor has a terrible fear of squirrels, so when Ashley discovered her prize bag
contained a squirrel blanket, she and Tani couldn’t help but make this photo happen.
And photobombs are a regular.
Afterward, I realized how hungry I was, so Robert (who came to visit me after the event) and I went to eat at Mr. Ramen. It was good, but I think we were both very tired from a long day.
It was very interesting to be on the other side of things by working the event instead of just coming as a guest, but at the same time, I was still able to talk to many of my friends! I enjoyed being able to help out, and I’m so happy everything went smoothly. I can’t wait until our next event!
Again, a big thank you to everyone who came, and I hope to see you all at the next event!
Thank you to Zeke for being our photographer for the night. Be sure to check out all of his event photos here!
Until Next Time,
<3 Sami
Upcoming Marimo Meet~!
Hello Everyone!
Well, Friday was a simple day working at Fairytale Boutique. We were mainly preparing for our Marimo event on Sunday! Miki had to go shopping for different items, so I hung out at the shop, taking care of some things she asked me to. I swept, took care of customers, and added model numbers to a lot of the older items in our store.
I had made gift certificates for the shop too, and If I say so myself, they came out really cute! Two lucky ducks will be winning these at our event on Sunday! We found out how hard printing these were when we had to print about 5 copies before they turned out right! We finally got it, and they’re just perfect.
I’m really excited for the raffle too! There’s a lot of good prizes, and as you all know, the top prize is a ticket to Kyary’s concert! When Miki brought back all the stuff for the raffle, I was surprised how much stuff she got!
After hours we worked on the candygrams! We couldn’t help but eat a few of the pieces of delicious candy Miki bought >w< Oh, these are so darling! They’ll come with a cute cup, bubbles, and a lot of candy! I hope you guys will buy them for your valentines, or even yourself!
I’ve been planning my outfit out in my head, and after the swap meet event yesterday, Tara and I decided we’re going to twin in Wonder Story <3
She’s so lucky she was able to pick up Midsummer’s too! We’re planning on twinning in that when I get mine as well!
My Dress Tara's Dress
I’m so excited for the event, and I hope you all will join! It’ll be a lot of fun <3
See you soon!
Toldja guys I’d show you eventually what that AP-style shopped picture was for!
I have to give a big thank you to Miki for accepting me as her intern, and teaching me so many things! I’m really happy I was able to do my internship at Fairytale Boutique, because I love the shop and the clothes, and I get to help out a friend :)
Shopgirls, Disneyland, and Cute Things!
Hello Everyone!
Fairytale Boutique made an official announcement that we have officially promoted Olivia Rivera as one of our official Shop Girl/Moderator of Fairytale Boutique. ♥
Congratulations Oli! ♥
This is the first released photo from our shoot last Sunday! Doesn’t Oli look cute? I love that cat-eared hat on her! I can’t wait to see how the other photos come out.
Things are happening quickly around the shop! The website is really pushing forward, and more and more items are being added to it. Please look forward to its opening!
~~~

A few cool things happened today. The first was that a Lolita walked in, very sweet girl, and she made mention of a Lolita who did a video about Disneyland…when it clicked! She was talking about Lor, and our Disneyland video!

Come to think of it, I don't think I told you guys about this! Lor and I went to Disneyland Jan 9th, and we recorded a video: Living Lolita: Disneyland. It's a great little video that answers a lot about lolitas and Disneyland.

Rewatching this video makes me so happy! We had so much fun that day ^^
 When I told the girl it was me who was with Lor, she got super excited and asked me more questions. It was so awesome to have someone bring it up in real life!

The second was that I got to purchase a pair of those awesome silver pearl kitty ears headbands!

Ohh they’re so cute! I love that you can dress them up or down, they’re so fun!

My outfit for the day was a bit more casual, and a bit more colorful than I usually wear:
 I made "kuma buns" in my hair, and put Baby bows over them.
Someone also recognized my Kawaii Carnival shirt!

 Until Next Time!

Upcoming Things at Fairytale Boutique!

Yesterday was a very exciting day for Fairytale Boutique! I can’t give out a lot of information, but there are lots of things in the works for the shop! We started the day by working on more stock photos. I was happy I got all of the Chocomint items done this past week by working during the week when I had time, and finishing everything out when I worked on Friday.

Today we started doing more of the bigger items, mainly the dresses. It’s tough work dressing and undressing that mannequin quickly! Thankfully Oli and Monique helped me :D We also got to play around in some of the dresses! I realized I love how “xxx” fits me, but I’m still not sure if I like the print, and I tried on “xxx” too! Oh crap you guys, I have to show you:

Uahh I can’t release any info or pictures! So I did this one AP style.

Okay, so there actually was a purpose for us putting on some of the dresses, but I can’t say! I also can’t tell everything we did yesterday, but I hope you guys like it when things get revealed!

After the shop closed and we finished everything, Miki and Shaun treated us to Korean BBQ! It was me, Miki, Shaun, Oli, Monique, Zeke, and Kai. It was really nice going out with friends; I haven’t done that in quite a while! The food was really good too! I ended up stuffed to the brim, and ready for a nap! It was very kind of Miki and Shaun to buy us dinner, I’m not used to that >w<

I talked to Shaun about my website again, and I guess there really is a lot I don’t know! ;_; He was talking about “FTP” and other technical stuff and I tried to follow, but he’s going to sit down and help me next week! I’ll show you guys my site when I get it going :)

~~~~
In other news, I’m really excited for the Marimo Party on Feb 10!
If you haven’t heard about it yet, please check out the event on Facebook!
This will be a new experience for me, because I’ve helped out at different events, but it’s usually just modeling. This time, I will actually be helping with running it :) I’m excited to learn what all goes in to putting together and running an event and making sure everything goes smoothly!
Oh man, I wish I could tell you guys about the prize! It’s gonna be awesome!
Hope to see you all there!
Whelp, that’s all the updates I’ve got!
Until Next Time,
^^ Sami
